Dear Parishioners:

A new school year has started and everybody scrambles to get a head start. Next Sunday you will have a second chance to sign up for church ministries and activities. If you volunteered already before the holidays you need not sign up again.

The picture taking for our Parish Pictorial Directory has started and we hope that it will help to bring parishioners closer together by putting a name to a face.

Jason Kenny, our M.P. welcomes people to come out this Sunday at 3:00 pm to affirm their support for the legislation to support the traditional definition of marriage.

In all the raucous of our times, all the suffering of our, so seemingly enlightened country, let us listen to the gospel message Ephphatha - Be opened.  Christ wants to open our ears to receive and understand his message. Towards the end of the baptismal ceremony the priest, like Christ, touches the ears and mouth of the newly baptized saying, "May he touch your ears to receive his word and your mouth to proclaim his faith" and the purpose is stated "to the praise and glory of God".

This is our task always: Listen to God's word
Proclaim our faith.
What we learned through God's word we have to hand on to the next generation, to those who are unfamiliar with God's word, to those who have stopped their ears since - Ephphata - Be opened.
