Dear Parishioners:
Today on the first Autumn Sunday we will continue to talk about our stewardship
and we hope that you all had a chance to study last Sunday's insert in the
bulletin. For all who did not receive one there are people at the doors
to make sure that you get one this Sunday. If you have any questions concerning
our finances, the members of the Financial Council will be willing to answer
your questions. There is also a Suggestion Box in the vestibule in which you
may place questions and suggestions.
At a later date we will have a parish meeting to address any concerns and
positive solutions. May God bless the generosity of all parishioners to help us
balance our budget.
Today's Second Reading from James gives us lots of thought where to place our
priorities. There is an old statement to set priorities. First the
necessary, second the useful and thirdly the pleasurable Some
people have inverted this sequence in our day and age. Consider that our gifts
to God are certainly a part of the necessary next to food and shelter.
May God bless you in your efforts of Stewardship of time, talent and treasure.
Fr. Henry
